Goodbye Yellow Brick Road 40th Anniversary Able
Ok, so I've pre-ordered the new 180g vinyl edition from Amazon. Looks like it comes with a download code and, from Amazon, but you also get an immediate download/stream from Amazon to their Cloud Player. Does anyone have a clue whether the Amazon download is basically the same as the new CD master which is being released of if not, what it is? Admittedly, I am listening to this on Cloud Player on my iphone so probably not able to compare to any other versions (I only have the Dudgeon remaster on my phone). Click to expand.I have just about every vinyl version there is, including imports. The very best, imo, is the MFSL.
A very close second, and you can still find these new, is the Speakers Corner. Most seem to agree if you look at the various posts around here on that subject. Our host has also said the MFSL is the closest you will get to the master.
He also recommends the imported DJM vinyl which I did get as well. I liked it, but getting a clean copy can be a challenge so I gave up. When I got the MFSL I stopped and was in awe of subtle nuances I never noticed before.wonderful version!
